Rajasthan News: Former Director General of Police (Ex-DGP) of Rajasthan, Dr. Gyan Prakash Pilania was cremated in the present day (14 October) at Khatipura Mokshadham in Jaipur. Dr Pilania was cremated by his son and former MLA Naveen Pilania. During his funeral, police personnel gave him a guard of honor in honor of the previous DGP. Apart from Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju Joseph, many leaders of BJP and Congress and plenty of dignitaries of Rajasthan attended the funeral.
Former Rajasthan Police DGP and former Rajya Sabha MP Dr Gyan Prakash Pilania handed away on Sunday on the age of 92. He was being handled for age associated ailments for a while. He was admitted in ICU in Soni Hospital, Jaipur for the final 20 days.
From Police Service to Parliament
Dr. Pilania, who was chosen within the Indian Police Service (IPS) within the 12 months 1955, reached the very best submit of Rajasthan Police. Apart from this, he was a member of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). He was a BJP Rajya Sabha MP twice from 2003 to 2014. His son Naveen Pilania was an MLA from Amer Assembly of Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed condolences on the demise of Dr. Pilania and mentioned that his demise is an irreparable loss for the politics of the state. CM Bhajanlal Sharma mentioned, “While being a Rajya Sabha MP, Pilania enriched the democratic values and established the best parliamentary traditions. His service as a former Director General of Police has also been an inspiration for the police personnel.”
